Connect your AI assistant to Protodesk to read existing Help Center content and propose new articles or edits. An owner or admin chooses the workspace and approves Help Center access. Your team reviews proposals before applying them.

1. Connect your AI

  1. Follow Protodesk MCP setup for your AI client.
  2. Sign in, select the intended workspace, and choose Read Help Center content and Propose content for review. Reading includes draft articles.
  3. Run the setup guide’s connection check and confirm the workspace and Help Center capabilities.
Clients with browser sign-in support can use OAuth. If your client needs an API key, follow the expandable API-key instructions in Setup. The optional local adapter remains available for existing installations; it is not required for the remote server.

2. Prepare a focused proposal

Give the AI access to the product information it needs, then ask it to check existing articles before drafting. Connecting MCP does not automatically give the AI access to your product repository.
You can also open Help Center → Create with AI → Generate and use Copy authoring prompt to start from the dashboard’s prompt. Copying a prompt alone does not create a proposal. Keep each request focused on a related set of reader tasks. Exclude credentials, private customer conversations, and unsupported roadmap features from public content.

3. Review the result

Open the returned review link, or Help Center → Needs review. Check the actual title, article content, language, collection, and URL slug. For an update, compare the proposal with the current article. Choose the available Save draft, Update draft, Publish, or Publish update action deliberately. Publishing an update to a live article changes what customers can read. The connected AI can submit proposals; it cannot approve or publish them. Follow Review AI proposals for individual and bulk review. Verify the public article after publishing.

If no proposal appears

Check that the AI reported a successful submission, that its connection has the intended workspace and permissions, and that you are looking in Needs review. New proposals are not necessarily saved articles yet. If an article changed while the AI prepared an update, ask it to read the latest revision and propose the change again. Reconcile an uncertain submission before creating another batch. See MCP troubleshooting.
