Use Help Center → Customize to change your public name, introduction, languages, and address. Use Help Center → Home to put the site live or take it offline. These are separate from publishing an individual article. You need an Owner or Admin role to change these settings.

Change the public name and introduction

  1. Open Help Center → Customize → Identity.
  2. Check the Editing language shown above the fields.
  3. Enter the Name customers should see and a short Description of what they can find.
  4. Select Save changes.
These fields describe the public Help Center. They do not rename your workspace or rewrite article content.

Choose languages

  1. Open the Languages tab.
  2. Choose an additional language and select Add language.
  3. Use Make default if that language should be the visitor fallback.
  4. Select a language, return to Identity, and review its translated name and description.
  5. Save your changes.
Adding a language does not translate your articles automatically. Prepare the corresponding collection and article translations, then check their publication status. Do not assume the default language makes every untranslated article available in another language.

Check the public address

Open Domain to find and copy your Help Center URL. Use Open Help Center to inspect the public site. Available address controls depend on your workspace and plan. If Customize URL or custom-domain setup is offered, read its requirements before changing the address. For a custom domain, use the DNS and verification values shown for your own workspace; connecting a hostname is not the same as completing verification and HTTPS setup. The official Protodesk Help Center uses https://help.protodesk.io. Other workspaces should use the address displayed in their own settings.

Put the Help Center live

  1. Publish at least one article in the default language.
  2. Open Help Center → Home.
  3. Select Publish Help Center.
  4. Select View live and check the site, collection navigation, and article links as a customer.
Use Take offline on Home to remove public access without deleting the articles or collections. An article can remain marked Published in the dashboard while the site is offline.

If content is missing

  • Check whether the site is Live on Home.
  • Check the article’s status, language, and collection assignment.
  • Verify the address, especially after a domain or URL change.
  • Check Help Center → Channels separately if you want help content displayed in a Chat App.
Public visibility and Evelin knowledge readiness are separate checks. See Add knowledge sources for Evelin.
